About Me

My name is Drake Gibbs. I make worlds.


Born and based in San Diego, forging worlds and conceptualizing games was my second language growing up. After a childhood of doodling on homework and scrawling rules in notebook margins, I decided it was time to get serious about my love for games. In 2018, I was welcomed into the Honors College at the University of Utah, joining the seasoned Entertainment Arts and Engineering program in pursuit of my passion.

In 2023, I graduated with an Honors Bachelor’s in Games and a Minor in Creative Writing. I currently work as a co-founder of a small indie company titled Winged Remnant LLC. This studio is home to several talented and passionate developers I worked with and befriended during my gaming academics. We are currently developing an unreleased project titled Survive-Ville, where I lead combat design.

The junction where the disciplines of art, design, and creativity collide is where I thrive, but it is the moment when the joy of play elicits discovery, curiosity, and creativity that drives my dreams to create.

My Games

  • Boiling Point

    A conversational puzzle game, highlighting the importance of proper law enforcement training. Players must try to make the correct decision in a short period of time, while managing the scenario and the laws that must be enforced.

    My Contribution:
    I designed the intricate puzzle system, gameplay loop, and all the dialogue. I also sourced the music.

  • Little Monkeys

    A 2.5D scrolling puzzle platformer. Follow the journey of a lone monkey named Finley through a bizarre world of curiosity! And unearth something darker within…

    My Contribution:
    I sourced, compiled, and composed all the SFX and music for the game, as well as contributing to the puzzle design of level 2 and several modular assets.

  • Bifröst: Through the Realms

    A fast-paced, multi-dimensional platformer with Norse and Sci-Fi themes. Race through different Realms using the Bifrost; a device capable of opening Rifts and Bridges to alternate worlds.

    My Contribution:
    I designed several modular assets for level 3, many ability concepts, and all of the dialogue and written logs throughout the game. I also composed the main theme for the title.

  • Survive-Ville

    Enter the world of Survive-Ville, a town management, Rogue-lite combat game! Delve into the depths of a eldritch possessed woodland to absolve a destitute town of its gruesome past…

    My Contribution:
    This title is still actively being developed! I currently work on the team as a design lead spearheading the extensive combat system. This includes enemy variety, weapon types, and gameplay modifiers.

  • Alganovar

    Alganovar is a table-top roleplaying game with an emphasis on combat customization and experimentation. Explore a far future where a hundred worlds are enraptured in a neo-renaissance, reality is manipulated on a whim, and the precarious division of planetary nations threaten to plunge the galaxy into a second, final conflict.

    My Contribution:
    Alganovar is a personal project of mine +10 years in the making. I am the sole designer, director, and eventual publisher (probably). Every lesson I learn in the industry further refines this IP with deeper mechanics, accessible gameplay, and captivating worldbuilding.
